Cowboy hats, horse and cart, a Dolly Parton tribute and a marquee full of dancing holidaymakers — Willowgrove certainly knew how to throw a party!
Willowgrove’s Annual Garden Party went country in spectacular style on Sunday, 9th August, as a record turnout of holiday-home owners came together for one of the biggest celebrations ever held on the park.
And the country theme was embraced with enthusiasm. Cowboy hats, boots, chaps and even spurs were on show, with guests dressing to impress in their finest Western gear. One owner stole the show (The Tuckers from Nightingale ) before the party had even started, arriving in true cowboy style by horse and cart!
There was something for everyone, with a delicious buffet lunch, plenty of refreshments and country tunes spun by Chris DJ SPIN throughout the afternoon. Local line dance troupe, the Stompers, kicked the party off in the opening hour with some country classics- thanks to all who had a go!
The annual Garden Party is a special thank-you from the McCarthy family to Willowgrove customers for their continued loyalty and support. But it is also much more than that — it has become a much-loved fixture in the Willowgrove calendar and a fantastic opportunity for the park’s community to get together and celebrate.
The afternoon also saw the winners of the annual garden competition announced, with sponsor Justin Allitt from Sell My Group presenting the trophies and prizes. The winners of the annual fishing competition were also rewarded for their angling achievements.
But the biggest cheers of the day were reserved for the headline act — a spectacular Dolly Parton tribute.
The performance went down an absolute storm, with the tribute act literally bringing the packed giant marquee to its feet. Before long, guests were singing, dancing and joining in the party atmosphere.
And that, ultimately, is what the Willowgrove Garden Party is all about.
It is a celebration of a great community of like-minded caravan and lodge owners — people who come to Willowgrove not just for the beautiful surroundings, but for the friendships, shared experiences and sense of belonging that make the park feel like home.
With a record crowd, fantastic entertainment and a whole lot of country spirit, this year’s Garden Party certainly raised the bar.
