Willowgrove Leisure Park was delighted to support the Preesall Bowling Club Annual Doubles Competition, held on Sunday and enjoyed by bowlers, friends and family from across the local community.

The day-long event brought together over 50 enthusiastic bowlers, creating a fantastic atmosphere of friendly competition, sportsmanship and community spirit. Throughout the day, spectators and participants enjoyed excellent bowling, generous refreshments, socialising and the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.

As part of Willowgrove Leisure Park’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations and community activities, members of the Willowgrove office team, Karen Watteson and John Brown, were honoured to present the competition trophies to the winning teams.

The winning team on the hotly contested day was Ben Halliday & Paul Turner from Hebden Bridge. Runners up were Barry Simons & Ian Lily from Morecambe.

At Willowgrove Leisure Park and UK Leisure Parks, we are passionate about supporting local clubs, businesses and community groups that help bring people together. Bowling clubs play an important role in promoting active lifestyles, particularly for those in their senior years, providing opportunities for regular exercise, social interaction and wellbeing.

Spending time outdoors has many recognised health benefits, including improved physical fitness, mental wellbeing and social connection. Events such as the Annual Doubles Competition demonstrate how sport can help people stay active, engaged and connected within their local community.

We would like to congratulate all of the competitors who took part and thank everyone involved in organising another successful event. Willowgrove Leisure Park looks forward to continuing its support of local community initiatives and celebrating the people and organisations that make the area such a wonderful place to live and visit.
