Over 200 Waters Edge caravan owners came together on Saturday May 6th to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles the III. The sun actually came out for the occasion, but we were taking no chances and had erected huge marquees in advance. It was a real family affair with grandparents inviting their extended families to join them in one giant garden party. Of course, no family was complete without their four-legged friends so dogs of all shapes and sizes were basking in the afternoon sunshine.
The buffet tables were groaning with the weight of delicious treats and the cake table was crowned by a giant Coronation cake – big enough for everyone to share.

Local businesses had set up stalls which the children particularly loved. A DJ helped get the party started – as did the copious amount of punch and summer cocktails.
All were generous in their support of the raffle which is in aid of local hospice Brian House Children’s Hospice, The British Heart Foundation and McMillan Cancer Research. We’ve not counted up the proceeds as yet, the but the total amount raised will be announced this week along with the names of all the lucky prize-winners. Thanks to all who donated the dozens of raffle prizes.

As the afternoon drew on the entire party played bingo, sang karaoke and danced until the sun went down. Park Managers Debra and Ron, along with Office Manager Neil were thrilled with the turnout. Debra wanted to send special thanks to all who had baked cakes and brought their speciality dishes to add to the buffet.
“The whole Waters Edge community has turned out in force to bring this brilliant garden party together. It took me back to my childhood when we had a street party for the Silver Jubilee. I can’t wait for the next big get together!”
