Willowgrove Leisure Park was delighted to support the Preesall Bowling Club Annual Doubles Competition, held on Sunday and enjoyed by bowlers, friends and family from across the local community.
The day-long event brought together over 50 enthusiastic bowlers, creating a fantastic atmosphere of friendly competition, sportsmanship and community spirit. Throughout the day, spectators and participants enjoyed excellent bowling, generous refreshments, socialising and the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
As part of Willowgrove Leisure Park’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations and community activities, members of the Willowgrove office team, Karen Watteson and John Brown, were honoured to present the competition trophies to the winning teams.
The winning team on the hotly contested day was Ben Halliday & Paul Turner from Hebden Bridge. Runners up were Barry Simons & Ian Lily from Morecambe.

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing owners and the hard work of our fantastic team, we’ve successfully raised £578.47 in support of Brian House Children’s Hospice.
To make this possible, we hosted a special Owners & Family Event Day, filled with live music, food, and drinks. We wanted to give back to a local charity, and Brian House Children’s Hospice was the perfect choice, as they do such incredible work supporting children and families.
In the run-up to the day, we invited our lodge and static owners to get involved by donating raffle prizes, and raffle tickets were sold both beforehand and during the event. On the day itself, we had collection buckets at the ready, and the community spirit truly shone through. Many of our wonderful owners even baked cakes and brought along their signature dishes, helping raise even more money while everyone enjoyed a day of fun and friendship.
Brian House provides essential care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and we are so proud to contribute to their mission.
From everyone here at UK Leisure Parks and Waters Edge Country Park, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, baked, cooked, and supported this fundraising effort. Your kindness and generosity made this achievement possible.

With every seat in the marquee taken, guests enjoyed a mouth-watering hog roast lunch while soaking up a packed programme of entertainment. The afternoon kicked off with a lively set from DJ Chris, followed by the incomparable Vince Hughes, whose Magic Jukebox Show had the crowd singing and dancing well into the afternoon.
A key moment of the day was the presentation of trophies and cash prizes to the proud winners of this year’s fishing and garden competitions — a celebration of both skill and community spirit.
The overriding feeling throughout the day was one of friendship, laughter, and togetherness — the very qualities Willowgrove is known for.
Our ever-popular raffle raised over £500 for St John’s Hospice, pushing our annual charity fundraising total past an incredible £6,000.
A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make this year’s Garden Party a truly unforgettable celebration.
